Mape is a Finnish mobile application designed for children, their parents, and school and daycare staff, providing real-time access to school menus, including allergen and nutritional information. Jamix has been a partner since the app’s launch, enabling the transfer of meals and their nutrition facts from the Jamix system to Mape via integration.
Mape also serves as an information channel for news related to school and daycare food. It also includes recipes for popular school meals to be used in home kitchens. Additionally, Mape allows digital purchasing of snacks sold in school cafeterias. You can also provide feedback easily to the school kitchen through Mape.
The Finnish foodservice provider Saimaan Tukipalvelut prepares school and daycare meals in the towns of Lappeenranta, Imatra, and Savitaipale. It has been using Mape since the beginning of the year. According to service director Elina Särmälä, the app has been well-received for its ease of use and convenience for both children and parents.
“The kitchen staff have also appreciated how smoothly snack purchases go through the app. In some of our locations, the digital purchase option has even boosted snack sales,” says Särmälä.
The free Mape app can be downloaded in Finland from the App Store and Google Play Store. The app was designed by Foody Allen, a food industry communications agency based in Turku, Finland.
